| At the Winterville Regional FIRST Lego League tournament on Saturday, November 23rd, the Saint Peter Wiredcats Blue and Green robotics teams both qualified for the NCFLL State Championships to be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at NC A&T State University in Greensboro! Our teams, which are comprised of middle school students, were among seven teams selected to advance. Wiredcats Green also won the prestigious 1st Place Mechanical Design trophy. Teams were judged on their engineering research project, core values (team building exercises), robot design, and their performance in a robot game competition. Wiredcats Blue Team members are Wright Collins, Carlos Garcia-Hernandez, TJ Gribble, Keaghan Heffernan, Tiago Marlow, and Tyler Nguyen. Wiredcats Green Team members are Isabella Calix, Jamie Galinis, Caleb Jones, Jasmine Pandya, Emi Peterson, Gerald Reiling, Michelle Saucedo-Trinidad, Mark Warren, and Sunook Yoon. The teams are coached by John Bell (head coach), Erin Cvetan, Katie Howard, Chelsea Haigwood, and Kristin Schimmoller. Team members' parents helped make the Wiredcats' tournament success possible by providing volunteer time and support. |   |
