Library / Media Center
The N.G. & Manzer Saad Library Media Center at Saint Peter Catholic School offers resources, assistance, and technology that supports our school mission and curriculum. We strive to provide a friendly and nurturing atmosphere conducive to academic study, educational browsing, and independent reading.
All students, faculty, administrators, and staff are welcome to check out library materials using the library's Alexandria Researcher catalog. Primary students visit the library weekly during scheduled classes and may return at other times with permission of their teacher. All other students may visit throughout the school day as scheduling permits. Teachers may schedule library time in order for their classes to conduct research and prepare projects. Mrs. Maria Moloney runs our library and its programs. |
Accelerated Reader ProgramAccelerated Reader is a computer program that helps teachers and librarians manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his own level and reads it at his own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer. (Passing the quiz is an indication that your child understood what was read.) Accelerated Reader gives children, teachers, and librarians feedback based on the quiz results, which the teacher then uses to help your child set goals and direct ongoing reading practice.

Scholastic Book Fairs
Our school hosts a Fall and Spring Scholastic Book Fair each year. Students, families, teachers, and community members are invited to visit our fairs. These events are fundraisers for our library, all proceeds from our Book Fairs are used to purchase books and materials for our Library Media Center.
The Spring 2019 Book Fair earned more than $4,100 worth of books for our library. Thank you! |
