Halloween Carnival

What to Bring to the Carnival
  • Your admission ticket (which can be used as one $2 activity ticket)
  • The wristbands you purchased
  • The activity tickets you purchased
  • A fistful of dollars if your kids like puppies--The Friends of the Pitt County Animal Shelter have will bring their "Snuggle with Puppies" exhibit, where kids can cuddle with puppies for a $1 donation.  This money will go to the Friends of the Pitt County Animal Shelter .
  • Your credit/debit card and cash for:
    • Purchases in the Country Store in the Spiritual Life Center
    • Wine Ring Toss--pay $10 to toss a ring on a bottle of wine or vodka, worth at least $10...many worth much more
    • Coffee--$1 in the Country Store in the Spiritual Life Center
    • Blind as a Bat in the Spiritual Life Center--$10 to blindly select a gift card worth at least $20...many worth much more
    • Wristbands for $20 (details of what these get you into are listed below)
    • $2 activity tickets for the Train Ride, Face Painting, Character Cove (featuring a rotating schedule of Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Spiderman, Superman, Snow White, and Darth Vader), the Putt-Putt Showdown and Free Throw Contest (details below)
    • Raffle tickets for the 2 Apple watches that will be raffled off ($5 for one ticket or $10 for 3)
    • Dinner from our awesome food vendors: China 10* (Chinese food), The Dog House* (hot dogs), Jersey Mike's* (sub sandwiches), Famiglia (pizza), JPII BBQ, Kona Ice*, Smash Waffles, and Kendall's Creamery (ice cream)   *denotes carnival sponsor
    • The Haunted House--$4 in the library
    • Canned goods to support the food pantry run by Catholic Charities.  They will be set up by the Photo Booth near the entrance to the cafeteria and will give a treat to anyone who brings a canned good.
What your wristband gets you:
  • All carnival games (Ahoy Pirates, Put the Bow on Mr. Bones, Gone Fishing, Pick My Nose, Skull in the Basket, Ghost Toss) in the school
  • All bouncy houses on the field
  • The Cake Walk in 8H and 7H
  • Pony Rides on the field
  • Hair Paint on Fourth Street near Brother Patrick
  • Crafts with the Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge in Room 8
  • Donna's Animal Adventures in 8B
What you need $2 activity tickets for:
  • Rides on the train (on Fourth St.)
  • Face painting (on Fourth St. near Brother Patrick)
  • Admission to the Character Cove (in 2M)
  • Playing Putt-Putt Showdown or Free Throw Challenge (you can also pay cash for these)
What's free:
  • Rides in the GUC Bucket truck on the field
  • Free Fun for Little Ones in the cafeteria (Ages 6 and Under)
    • Bouncy House
    • Cookie Walk
    • Fun activities for kids
    • Signing up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Station Library free book program
  • Photo Booth (in front of the cafeteria doors)
  • Magic Shows at 5:30 and 7 pm in the Music Room
  • Costume Contest at 5 pm

Important Times to Know

  • 2 pm: The Country Store opens for early bird sales...shop early, get good parking
  • 3:30 pm: THE CARNIVAL OPENS!
  • 4 pm: Putt-Putt Showdown against Fr. Jim in the Country Store ($2 to challenge Fr. Jim to a best-of-three putting challenge. If you beat Fr. Jim, your name is entered into a drawing to win $100 in cash and 4 rounds of golf at Ironwood Golf and Country Club)
  • 4:30 pm: Free Throw Contest against Mr. Hughes at the basketball court on the playground ($2 to challenge Mr. Hughes to a best-of-three free throw contest.  If you beat Mr. Hughes, your name is entered into a drawing to win $100 in cash and tickets to the ECU basketball game of your choice)
  • 5 pm: Costume Contest (FREE) on Fourth Street.  Those who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd will win a special candy treat, gift certificates for Krispy Kreme and a NUT Day on Monday, October 29.  The first place winner will also get a yummy S'Mores gift basket (and bragging rights)
  • 5:30 pm: Magic Show (FREE) with Magician Brian Walsh in the music room
  • 6 pm: Putt-Putt Showdown against Mr. Jones in the Country Store ($2 to challenge Mr. Jones to a best-of-three putting challenge. If you beat Mr. Jones your name is entered into a drawing with those who beat Fr. Jim at 4 pm to win $100 in cash and 4 rounds of golf at Ironwood Golf and Country Club)
  • 7 pm: Magic Show (FREE) with Magician Brian Walsh in the music room
  • 7:45 pm: Drawing for two Apple watches.  You do not need to be present to win.
  • 8 pm: Carnival Closes
