The first graders of the 1B and 1S art classes proudly display the base structures of their Mr. and Ms. Mousey Head paper sculptures. In this geometry-based art project, students internalize the concept of the cone by making one from a paper plate. The cone serves as the base form upon which each student will work creatively to give his or her mouse head a unique personality. During the next few weekly classes, students will use colored tissue paper, a glue/water mixture, yarn, corn, pom poms, and cotton to finish their sculptures.
